In the expansive universe of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, your weapons will be your greatest allies. Yet they’re not invincible, and wear and tear is an inevitable part of your journey as the weapon durability feature returns in TOTK.

The world of Hyrule is vast and fraught with dangers, requiring a hero who’s not only brave but also equipped with a well-maintained set of weapons. So, what do you do when your trusty armaments start to show signs of degradation?

We’ve got you covered with the ultimate guide on how to repair weapons in Tears of the Kingdom, ensuring your arsenal stays sharp and ready for any battle that comes your way.

How to repair weapons in Zelda: TOTK

You can find Octoroks across Hyrule in TOTK.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom players can repair their weapons by utilizing an Octorok attack.

Octoroks are a common enemy that players will come across during their TOTK playthrough. This creature looks like an octopus, and you can take a look at the image above to help you find one.

Octoroks will look to chew up and spit out rocks that they’ll send in your direction. However, Rock Octoroks in TOTK also have another vortex-like attack. It’s this attack that can repair your weapons.

In order to have the Octorok repair your weapon, timing is key. First, you’re going to want to initiate their vortex attack. Keep your distance from them, then, as you see them suck in, you’re going to want to drop your weapon right at the base of the enemy.

If done successfully the Octorok will inhale your weapon and spit it out with renewed durability. During the process, you should be able to hear a chewing sound as well as notice a sparkle animation above the Octorok.

If you’re not interested in waiting for the Octorok to spit out your weapon, you can always defeat it to speed up the process and claim your revitalized equipment.

Keep in mind that you can only utilize this method to repair weapons in TOTK once per Octorok. So, you’ll have to decide which weapons to prioritize. As for where to find these specific Octoroks, we got you covered with the exact locations.
