Warzone 2 Season 1 Reloaded is right around the corner and JGOD has offered his pick for the best close-range weapon prior to the update.

Since Warzone 2‘s November 16 launch, players have been testing the over 50 weapons in the game to discern which ones stand at the top of the meta. Luckily, YouTuber and Warzone stats expert JGOD is as dedicated as ever to analyzing Warzone 2’s best guns.

Throughout Season 1 we’ve seen top players utilize some incredible close-range weapons as they hunt for Nukes in Warzone 2. A versatile loadout is a necessity in Warzone 2, so pairing a long-range weapon with a short-range weapon is a popular strategy.

When it comes to close-quarters fights, Shotguns, Handguns, and SMGs are once again at the forefront of the meta. JGOD’s top-tier close-range weapons include the Bryson 800 Shotgun and P890 Handgun. As for SMGs, the expert highlighted the Lachmann Sub and Vaznev 9k as inferior to only the Fennec 45 in Season 1.

JGOD Fennec 45 loadout for Warzone 2 Season 1

  • Muzzle: Singuard MKV
  • Laser: 1mw Quick Fire Laser
  • Optic: Slimline Pro
  • Rear Grip: Fennec Rubber Grip
  • Magazine: Fennec Mag 45

As JGOD puts it, the Fennec takes the top spot due to its forgiving fire rate and excellent TTK. The stats expert explained, “when you come into a one-on-one scenario, you’re deleting that player.”

With the recommended loadout above, the idea is to cover for the Fennec’s biggest weakness as “you burn through bullets pretty quick.” Therefore, the Fennec Mag 45 is essential even though it reduces mobility.

The Singuard MKV will also reduce ADS speed and mobility, but we’ll address that later. The fact that the Singuard MKV increases damage range, bullet velocity, and recoil smoothness, all while suppressing the weapon makes it impossible to ignore.

The Fennec 45’s standard mobility and ADS speed are fantastic, but it did take a hit with the aforementioned attachments. Therefore, the 1mw Quick Fire Laser and Fennec Rubber Grip will restore the balance by boosting ADS speed and sprint to fire speed.

JGOD suggests using the Slimline Pro optic to improve your accuracy from the standard iron sights. With the Slimline Pro, you should be able to accurately hit targets up to 25 meters.
