While Apex Legends is primarily a first person battle royale title, you can also play in third person mode with the help of a fun easter egg within the game’s Firing Range.

There is a ton of fun content to enjoy when you hop into a match of Apex Legends, including various colorful characters and references to other games like Mass Effect and Titanfall. There is also an easter egg that lets you play in third person mode.

This can only be done within the game’s Firing Range, but this visual mode is still fun to play with. Luckily, it’s fairly easy to unlock with just a few steps, and we’ll go over everything that you need to do to try it out yourself.

After you jump into a match of Apex Legends, try to land at or near the Firing Range. Once you’ve reached there, you’ll be able to try out this trick after following a few simple steps.

Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Head to one of the far corners of the Firing Range.
  2. Grapple on to the champion banner on the east side of the map, before swinging round to the ledge behind it.
  3. Stand in the small bush in the corner of the map and then crouch.
  4. While crouching, change your character and an audio cue will inform you that you’ve entered third person mode.

That’s all you need to do in order to unlock this fun little easter egg. However, the downside is that you will need to keep a completely clear inventory in order to successfully pull this off.

At first, Apex fans on Reddit were unsure whether this was an intentional easter egg or some unfixed bug, but one of the devs, Jason McCord, replied with the side-eyes emoji that they took as confirmation of its intentional involvement.

There might be several more easter eggs hidden around the map that have yet to be discovered, and it’s worth searching for them during a match. You might come across another fun gameplay mechanic or trick by experimenting.

It’s incredibly satisfying to be able to see your character jumping around the map during a match, so you should absolutely try this out for yourself.
