How to fix the BOCW Streetsweeper Shotgun progress reset glitch

Andrew Highton

One of Black Ops Cold War’s newest additions is the powerful Streetsweeper Shotgun that can obliterate opponents. But complaints have been aimed at the gun’s unlock requirements as it appears to randomly reset progress, this is actually not the case and we will instruct you how to get your hands on it.

Treyarch‘s latest shooter boasts some incredible firepower with weapons that can end your enemies with only a couple of taps of a button – like the Gallo. That was until the Streetsweeper turned up to do what it says on the tin.

However, even though people have been following the instructions to unlock it, the gun’s progress bar has been resetting or maxing out and not unlocking. This has led to anger towards the developers, with players thinking that the gun is broken. Thankfully, there is a solution.

Unlocking the Streetsweeper Shotgun in BOCW

There’s a big reason as to why lots of people are trying to unlock the Streetsweeper – it’s actually really good. It hits harder than the Gallo and can do it more quickly.

Obtaining this monster is slightly problematic in that its visible progression isn’t quite what it appears to be.

In order to unlock the gun, Black Ops Cold War states that you must do the following:

  • Challenge – Get a 3 killstreak with Black Ops Cold War Shotguns in 15 different games

While this isn’t the easiest thing in the world to do, if you take a Gallo and head to Hardcore Nuketown, then you’ll have plenty of opportunities to quickly rack up three kills without dying. That’s all the game wants you to do, isn’t it? Wrong.

What the conditions don’t divulge is that once you’ve earned this 3 killstreak with a shotgun, you must then see the match through to its conclusion. Failure to do so because you’ve quit out or lost connection will result in your progress meter going up by one, but in reality, it hasn’t counted.

Here’s Reddit user Banana_Lion_Roar and their own example of the glitch. It’s artificially showing that the challenge is complete when, in fact, they got the killstreak in each game and then quit out.

Many people have been posting their own believed misfortunes thinking that the Streetsweeper has bugged out on them.

So, if you want to ensure you have no issues unlocking the gun, make sure you finish off your game and maybe keep a mental track of what your real progress might actually be.
