As Warframe‘s developers, Digital Extremes, continued to expand the free-to-play shooter by introducing new locations, Warframes, and gameplay mechanics such as open-world areas and space combat, players were still desperate for crossplay and cross-save to be added.
Digital Extremes has finally answered the requests for cross-platform play in Warframe. As of December 2022, players can enjoy crossplay across PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

To start using Warframe’s crossplay feature, you’ll first need to link your accounts. Here’s how:
- Visit Digital Extremes’ website and log in with your Xbox, PlayStation, or Nintendo account.
- Once logged in, link your accounts to access friends lists on each platform.
- Once complete, you’ll be able to access your friends list across different platforms as you normally would.
How to enable crossplay in Warframe
To turn on crossplay in Warframe, simply head to the Options menu, and at the bottom of the page, you’ll find the option to toggle crossplay On or Off.
To join your friends in Warframe, make use of the Squad matchmaking feature. This will enable you to invite or join your teammates as if you were all playing on the same platform. Players can meet at Relays or visit Dojos, but be aware that there’s an issue when entering Dojos in a cross-platform squad. To get around the problem, invite players only after you’ve already entered the Dojo.
Similar to Call of Duty, every player has been given a unique number which helps to find different players who share the same name. To find your number, simply visit your profile in the game menu.
Does Warframe have cross-progression?
While cross-save or cross-progression isn’t available in Warframe yet, players can expect some progress in the future. Digital Extremes is actively working on it and said:
“Cross Platform Save is not currently available, but we will keep the Community updated on when they can take part in Cross Platform Save as Cross Platform Play development continues.”
