While EA Sports’ dev teams are preparing for the official launch on October 6, some players are wondering if NHL 24 will support cross-platform play, and if so, which game modes will have this feature.

EA Sports have released early access to NHL 24 and the most expected feature in this new game edition is the possibility to play with or against friends on different platforms, but it’s not as straightforward as it sounds.

Only a select group of players will be able to play with each other, and here’s everything you need to know about the crossplay feature in NHL 24, including the available platforms and game modes confirmed.

All NHL 24 crossplay platforms confirmed

Crossplay in NHL 24 is available for all platforms, including both current-gen consoles. So, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, as well as last-gen consoles PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will benefit from the feature.

As the devs explained, players can play with or against their friends on the same generation consoles. This means that PS5 players and Xbox Series X|S players can play against each other, while PS4 and Xbox One players can play against each other. Players can’t play cross-generationally, for example, a PS5 player and a PS4 player cannot play with or against one another.

NHL 24 crossplay game modes confirmed

NHL 24 features crossplay in the online game modes of Hockey Ultimate Team (HUT) and World of Chel (WOC). However, the NHL community is expecting devs to also announce crossplay in the Online Versus mode (H2H).
