The Lords of the Fallen devs have officially confirmed that New Game Plus will be getting a “modifier system” to add customization and replayability to successive playthroughs.

Lords of the Fallen is considered one of the best Souls-like games out there, offering a similarly eerie and unforgiving experience, with bosses and gameplay that’s extremely reminiscent of FromSoftware‘s popular RPG titles.

The Dark Souls and Souls-like games are often praised for their replayability, and Lords of the Fallen aims to provide unique experiences in successive playthroughs through different endings, character classes, and mainly, New Game Plus.

In fact, the LOTF devs have announced a new “modifier system” coming to the game’s NG+ mode soon, which aims to bring “fun modifiers” to spice up the experience and even make successive playthroughs more intense.

Lords of the Fallen set to introduce mods to NG+

In the patch notes for Lords of the Fallen’s v1.1.224 update, the devs revealed that they have been “designing the NG+ modifier system,” which allows players to “fully customize their NG+ experience.” This includes customization options such as “permadeath, item randomized, enemy randomized,” and more.

These customization options are often modded into Dark Souls and other Souls-like games, so the fact that the devs are supporting this kind of content with an official modifier system for NG+ is great news for the community and future of the game.

When is Lords of the Fallen’s NG+ modifier system releasing?

The devs stated that the “feature set is yet to be fully defined,” but their “current intention is to release the modifier system before the end of the year.”

So, before the end of 2023, players will be able to hop into their New Game Plus saves of Lords of the Fallen and add fun modifiers to the game to experience unique gameplay, and even up the stakes with a permadeath mode.
