Leveling up is essential in Persona 3 Reload if you don’t want to be overwhelmed by the monsters in Tartarus. So, here are the best tips to farm XP while grinding the Tartatus floors and a broken method that grants around 600,000 XP instantly in Persona 3 Reload.

Persona 3 Reload lets you enjoy the life of a high-school student who attends classes, goes to clubs, and hangs out with friends. However, things get serious when you head to the Tartarus tower during the night, as it is full of terrifying monsters.

With 264 floors to clear, there’s no shortage of intimidating opponents in Tartarus and doing so is important if you want to see the true ending. Alongside mastering the combat and unlocking the most powerful attacks, you can level up to take down most of these enemies with ease.

So, here’s how you can earn XP fast in Persona 3 Reload, as well as a hidden broken method to farm tons of experience points.

Persona 3 Reload: How to level up fast

The best way to level up fast in Persona 3 Reload is re-running previously explored Taratarus floors or advancing through new ones once Elizabeth tells you about their opening. But, as obvious as this may seem, you need to prepare a few things first.

Persona 3 Reload MC and the Fortune teller.
The Fortune Teller can read the MC’s fortune and provide various bonuses during Tartarus visits.

To optimize your leveling nights in Tartarus and level up fast, players will need to follow these instructions:

  1. Before speaking to Mitsuru or Fuuka and heading into Tartarus, find the Fortune teller in Club Escapade and ask her to read the MC’s Rarity Fortune.
  2. This will spawn more Rare Shadows on your next Tartarus visit and trigger an upgraded Gold Shadow spawn. These Shadows net double XP each time you beat them.
  3. You should then visit Tartarus and pick a section that’s appropriate for your level, which normally is the last section you are exploring.
  4. Now, start going up floors and beat every Shadow you come across. Your goal here is to hit as many weaknesses as you can to trigger Shuffle Time, as this will spawn Major Arcana cards.
  5. Once enough Major Arcana cards are selected, the game will start an Arcana Burst, which will ensure level 4 bonus cards appear on each Shuffle Time.
  6. Re-run as many floors as you can once Arcana Burst has been triggered, and kill as many Rare Shadows as you come across.
  7. Finishing each battle with an All-Out Attack will trigger the card-picking animation, and each “The Wands” card will be level 4, which nets tons of bonus XP each fight.

To avoid running out of SP, try to pick Physical attackers like Akihiko or Junpei, and bring Personas with Physical skills for the MC. Use high-level Strike, Slash, or Pierce skills to use your HP instead of your SP, and recover it with Life Stones found when breaking objects around Tartarus.

How to farm XP in Persona 3 Reload: Reaper method

Persona 3 Reload features a way to farm XP extremely fast, but we need to clarify that this method can break the game completely. It involves killing The Reaper as early as Fuuka tells you about it, but you will need to cheese the boss with the game’s easiest difficulty to beat it.

The Reaper in Persona 3 Reload vs the party.
The Reaper can net enormous amounts of XP all at once if killed early.

When you reach floor 67 in Tartarus, Fuuka will contact you and tell you about The Reaper. The mysterious death-bringer enemy will appear on any floor once 5 minutes have passed, and it will follow the party until you reach the next floor.

To kill the Reaper early and earn almost 600,000 XP points, you need to follow these instructions:

  1. Set the game’s difficulty to ‘Peaceful.’ This will revive the party in any battle if you get whipped out.
  2. Go to any Floor beyond 67F, and wait 5 minutes for The Reaper to spawn.
  3. Attack The Reaper with your best party members, and your best Persona Skills. He has no weaknesses or resistances. If he uses the Heat Riser skill, you can unbuff him with Dekaja.
  4. He will wipe out the party a lot, but with the Peaceful difficulty on, you can select “I can’t die yet” in the Death screen to revive the whole party.
  5. Keep going, as little damage as you do, until you kill The Reaper.

If you want to wait and kill The Reaper the regular way, you should play the game until you reach the last floors of Tartarus (220F+). With a party around level 80 and a good amount of Homunculus, you can easily beat this boss and still earn tons of XP to level up before the game’s final moments.

If you end up cheesing this boss, take into consideration that this method might break the game, resulting in no difficulty whatsoever in all the following fights. You can always change the difficulty back in the game’s System menu.
