With Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth arriving on February 29, rumors of a crossover in Fortnite are beginning to swirl once again, but is there any truth to them? Here’s everything we know about FF7 Rebirth coming for Fortnite.

Fortnite has managed to maintain a huge player count ever since its launch back in 2017. This is partly due to the way it’s constantly evolved with each new season and update, but also because of the many high-profile crossovers the devs have pulled off.

Huge franchises like Marvel and Star Wars have appeared in the battle royale, as well as a number of iconic games like Metal Gear Solid and Doom. Now, with Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth dropping on February 29, players are wondering if Square Enix’s iconic RPG series is also coming to the island.

Here’s everything we know so far about a Fortnite x Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth crossover.

Is Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth coming to Fortnite?

There is currently no official word from Epic Games that Fortnite is getting a Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth collaboration. However, although the devs have remained silent, leaks have hinted that the crossover is in the works.

Insider and Xbox Era podcast host, Nick “Shpeshal Nick” Baker, claimed that a FF7 Rebirth crossover is on its way to Fortnite, alongside other major properties like One Piece. While they didn’t give a specific release date, they speculated that dropping crossover skins to coincide with the game’s February 29 launch would make sense.

It’s also worth keeping in mind that Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 is expected to begin around March 8, just over a week after Rebirth’s release date. So, if the rumors do turn out to be true, it’s possible we could see characters from the iconic series appear in the new Battle Pass.

There haven’t been any concrete leaks about which characters could appear in a potential collaboration, but there are a number of fan favorites that players would love to see.

Protagonist Cloud Strife and villain Sephiroth would be the two most obvious choices, but the likes of Aerith, Tifa, and Barret could also prove popular.

That was everything we know about a Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth crossover in Fortnite. We’ll be sure to update this page if any official details are revealed.
