December 2 has finally arrived, and that means Fortnite fans have lots of new content to sink their teeth into thanks the arrival of Season 5. Here’s everything you need to know about the 15.00 update.

Season 4 came to its dramatic conclusion on December 1 when Galactus attacked the island, and attempted to eat the Zero Point that holds Fortnite’s reality in place. Thanks to some help from Marvel superheroes, the ‘Devourer of Worlds’ was sent packing, but not before he altered the Fortnite island massively.

The Zero Point energy ball is now exposed, and Jonesy has called in seven of the universe’s greatest hunters to protect it, and stop players from escaping the reality.

As always, the new season update for Fortnite brings new weapons and items, major updates to the loot pool, and much more. Here’s everything you need to know about Fortnite Season 5.

Bounties

One of the major additions to Fortnite Season 5 is the bounty system. With seven great hunters now roaming the island, including Star Wars’ Mandalorian, your job is to help them by taking on quests and bounties.

You can choose to team up by hiring them, or you can challenge them to a battle. The choice is yours, with rewards on offer for those who go toe-to-toe with these powerful warriors.

If you want to hire them, you’ll need Bars. These can be earned by completing quests or bounties, eliminating players, or finding them hidden across the island. You can spend your newly-acquired hardware on rare weapons, upgrades, intel, services, and more.

New Weapons

New weapons are a must for any new Fortnite season, and this one is no different. The Dragon Shotgun will help players “unleash their fiery rage” according to Epic, while Mandalorian’s Amban sniper rifle won’t just take down enemies at range, but can also be used as a melee weapon.

There are also seven new Floppers to catch, along with the Shadow Tracker, and more.

  • Dragon Shotgun
  • Shadow Tracker
  • New Floppers
    • Tiger Zero Fish
    • Leafy Zero Fish
    • Skull Zero Fish
    • Rift-To-Go Flopper
    • Sandstorm Rift Flopper
    • Zero Point Flopper
  • Bounty Board
  • Gold Bars & Safe
  • Boom’s Sniper Rifle (Mythic)
  • Amban Sniper Rifle (Mythic)
  • Mandalorian’s Jetpack (Mythic)

Loot Pool Changes

Along with new items, we’ve also seen some return from the game’s vault, with the Charge Shotgun and P90 reappearing, along with the Storm Scout Rifle and more.

  • Charge Shotgun
  • Double Barrel Shotgun
  • P90
  • SMG
  • Storm Scout Rifle
  • Tactical Shotgun
  • Balloons

Of course, bringing some items back means others have to leave to make room, with the Pump Shotgun controversially exiting the game once again. Just because an item is vaulted doesn’t mean we won’t ever see it again though, so don’t panic if one of your favorites is gone.

  • Revolver
  • Fire Trap
  • Scoped Assault Rifle
  • Epic/Legendary Pump Shotgun
  • Legendary Combat Shotgun
  • Scar
  • Epic/Legendary Tac SMG

Bug Fixes

It’s rare that Epic releases a patch without some fixes for glitches that have been affecting the game, and the v15.00 update is no different. The developers have fixed an issue where it was impossible to bind the same key to different actions for those who play with a keyboard, and have also removed the Bash Burner pickaxe from competitive playlists while they investigate a problem with it.

  • Huntress Outfit appearing as Ramirez or another Outfit.
  • Impossible to bind the same key to different actions with Keyboard.
  • Bash Burner Pickaxe temporarily disabled in competitive playlists.
