A new collaboration between Epic Games and Disney will see the two companies create a new games and entertainment universe connected to Fortnite. This universe will contain experiences that players will be able to watch, play, and share with others.

Epic Games is no stranger to collaborations. In a recent announcement, the creators announced that they will be collaborating with Disney to create a new universe that is connected to Fortnite.

Both these companies have collaborated extensively in the past and a lot of Disney characters have made an appearance in Fortnite. However, with this new collaboration, it seems like characters from the Battle Royale could be seen in Disney-backed movies and TV shows as well.

In the wake of the Fortnite 28.20 update, the companies announced that Disney will be investing $1.5 Billion in Epic Games, and will be acquiring an equity stake in the company.

In the press release, Robert A. Iger, Chief Executive Officer of The Walt Disney Company, said: “This marks Disney’s biggest entry ever into the world of games and offers significant opportunities for growth and expansion. We can’t wait for fans to experience the Disney stories and worlds they love in groundbreaking new ways.”

Tim Sweeny, CEO and Founder of Epic Games, in response to the above statement, said: “Now we’re collaborating on something entirely new to build a persistent, open, and interoperable ecosystem that will bring together the Disney and Fortnite communities.”

This collaboration is still subject to regulatory approvals and other legalities. Once the deal is finalized, it will be interesting to see the new experiences that both these companies come up with. Players will also be hoping that more Disney characters will make their way into Fortnite in the coming months.
