Did Fortnite remove Ranked Play?

Achieving victory royales in Fortnite was one of the only measures of players’ skill in the battle royale game until Epic Games replaced Arena with the Ranked Play mode, allowing players to test their skills against others while completing Ranked Quests as they grind.

The addition of this game mode has proven to be popular among the Fortnite community, but you might face difficulties trying to jump into Ranked Play today. If you’re wondering whether or not Ranked Play has been removed then here’s what you need to know.

Has Ranked Play been removed from Fortnite?

Yes, Ranked Play has been temporarily disabled in Fortnite while the developers investigate crashing issues. While they initially re-enabled it after just a few hours, the mode has been disabled again as crashing issues continued.

Many players also found themselves unable to log in to Fortnite and others were receiving an error with their rank not matching tournament requirements, leading to Epic Games canceling the day’s Fill Cups in order to investigate.

At the time of writing, it remains to be seen exactly when Fortnite’s Ranked Play mode will be up and running again, but the developers have reassured players that this is just a temporary measure while they look into these issues.

The Fortnite Status account on Twitter will continue to provide frequent updates regarding Ranked Play’s availability in the battle royale title, so as soon as the mode is back up, they’ll be sure to announce it on that account.

While this may be disappointing to Fortnite players that were hoping to test their skills against others in Ranked Play, it’s reassuring to know that the developers are aware of the issues and are maintaining communication with the fans.
