Destiny 2 players will finally be able to customize their character appearance without having to delete their character. This highly requested change is set to go live in a future update.

Bungie has finally acknowledged one of the oldest requests from the Destiny 2 community. Once the update goes live, players will be able to alter their character’s body type, face markings, face type, and hairstyles.

Although the developers haven’t mentioned when this feature will go live, they’ve said that it will go live before The Final Shape drops on June 4, 2024.

As of now, if you don’t like your character’s appearance in Destiny 2, you will have to delete your entire character and make a new one. Not just that, you will also have to transfer all your important gear into the vault, otherwise you will lose them.

You will be able to modify how your character looks from the selection menu directly.

As revealed in the Bungie blog post on January 18, you will be able to change the appearance from the character selection menu directly after the feature goes live. All you need to do is hover the pointer over your character, and you will see the option.

There is no additional cost involved, and you can change how your character looks as many times as you want in Destiny 2. However, if you want to switch races, then deleting your character is the only option.

Bungie will also reset the Synthweave Bounty cap so that you can earn more Synthweave to unlock armor cosmetics. This cap reset will take place in the March update.

As of now, you can only collect 10 Synthweave Bounties for each character. Given that there are different armor pieces, during a season, you will be able to unlock two full sets for every character.

It’s been over six years since Bungie released Destiny 2 in 2017 and many players might be stuck with the appearance of their character since then. Once this feature goes live, players will finally be able to modify and recreate the Guardian of their dreams!
