Destiny 2’s Guardian Games is a fan-favorite event that looks to determine which is the strongest class of them all. Following the launch of Lightfall, Bungie confirmed the gauntlet will return this year, so here are all the details on the Destiny 2 Guardian Games 2023.
Destiny 2 Lightfall is finally here, bringing yet another huge content drop to Bungie’s long-running looter shooter. The new expansion brought everything from a new sub-class and weapons, to an epic campaign to complete.
While the next major expansion is still some way off, the devs like to keep with things fresh regular events for players to take part in. One of the most popular of these is the Guardian Games, which is set to make a triumphant return later in the year.

Destiny 2 Guardian Games 2023 start date
In the first blog since Lightfall dropped, Bungie confirmed that the Destiny 2 Guardian Games 2023 will begin on May 2, 2023, the tenth week of Season 20. It will run until May 23, giving players three weeks to compete.
The devs didn’t reveal what time the event will kick off, but it’s safe to assume it will be at the same time as the weekly reset. With this in mind, we’d expect the Destiny Guardian Games to start at 5 PM GMT / 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET.

The Guardian Games are Destiny 2’s take on the Olympics, pitting Warlocks, Hunters, and Titans against one another to determine which class takes the crown. Guardians are tasked with completing various missions and bounties to earn Laurels, which serve as each class’s points.
All players will be handed unique Guardian Games items which must be equipped to earn Laurels and make progress on any event-specific bounties.
Whichever class has the most Laurels once the games come to a close will be declared the winner, and will receive a statue in The Tower until the following year to prove their superiority.

The rewards for the Destiny 2 Guardian Games 2023 are yet to be revealed, but players can expect an Olympics-themed cosmetic for participating. It’s also likely that a new weapon will be added, as 2022 brought The Title SMG.
