The JAK BFB has become the go-to Muzzle for meta builds in MW3 and Warzone, but the Season 2 update hit the attachment with a substantial nerf.

Whether you’re a Modern Warfare 3 or Warzone player, running the best loadout is essential if you want to secure victory as regularly as possible. While the weapon is, of course, the most important factor, equipping the right attachments can give you and your squad the edge.

There are hundreds of different options to choose from in MW3 and Warzone across all the different categories, from Assault Rifles to deadly Snipers. That being said, there are a handful of meta attachments that become staples in almost every top-tier build.

One of these is the JAK BFB Muzzle, which arrived back in Season 1 Reloaded as a reward for one of the challenges needed to unlock the HRM-9 SMG.

However, in the MW3 and Warzone Season 2 update, the devs decided to roll a major nerf to make the Muzzle less effective. Check out all the changes as shared in the patch notes below.

JAK BFB Muzzle nerfed in MW3 & Warzone Season 2

  • Decreased gun kick control benefit to 55%, down from 60%.
  • Decreased vertical recoil control benefit to 35%, down from 40%.
  • Increased aim down sight time penalty to 15%, up from 12%.
  • Increased sprint to fire time penalty to 14%, up from 11%.
  • Increased aim walking speed penalty to 17%, up from 14%.
  • Added 18% bullet velocity penalty.

The JAK BFB arrived as part of the HRM-9 unlock challenges.

These JAK BFB changes apply to both Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone, and it still retains its main drawback of marking your location and direction on the minimap after firing.

Despite this major downside, the Muzzle had become one of the most popular attachments in the game thanks to its huge recoil buffs. Some even considered it the most “powerful” option in the entire game, as it allows players to use the remaining four slots to focus on mobility.

But the devs clearly felt that the benefits outweighed the negatives too strongly, as these nerfs reduce the amount of recoil control and apply extra velocity and mobility penalties. Only time will tell if the JAK BFB remains a meta pick in Warzone and MW3 going forward.
