Unconfirmed Rumor claims 10th Specialist in Black Ops 3 will be earned through Supply Drops

A new rumor has arisen claiming that the 10th specialist that’s coming to Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will be in Supply Drops. The rumor’s source is a reported phone call that took place between a user and an Activision Support rep.

[Note: We are unable to confirm the legitimacy of the call as of right now, and we think it’s most likely fake, but let’s talk about the possibility of it happening.]

Now, before we go any further, the current rumors claim that the 10th specialist that could come to Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is reportedly called ‘Black Jack’ and is based off of the Black Market person. Leaks also claim that the ability will be to ‘hack’ enemy specialists and use it for themselves. Activision and Treyarch have yet to announce any details about a possible new specialist as of now; current rumors have come about via game files that leaked.

If this rumor is true, Activision should really rethink their strategy here. Supply Drops have already gotten a lot of backlash from the community, and this would make it even worse. All comestic stuff are absolutely fine. Look at Halo 5’s REQ packs: tons of cosmetic stuff and no issues. Halo 5 is even giving all post launch DLC maps content for free for everyone. In Call of Duty, we have to get the Season Pass (which isn’t cheap for what it’s offering anymore…think about it. We are paying $49.99 for 16 maps and 4 zombies maps this year. Halo 5 is giving almost 20 maps, new modes, and more for free) or for $14.99 separately each.

How can they justify putting a specialist character, behind a “pay wall”? Activision can say that you can get it with Cryptokeys, but we all know the earn rate for keys are way too slow. Double Cryptokey weekend only has happened twice, and that earn rate is not

Guns were already problematic in Supply Drops. Activision has exclusively locked all post launch weapons in Black Ops 3 behind the supply drops. Advanced Warfare, at least, had some new guns in DLC Packs. Thus far, we have got no new weapons in DLC Packs in Black Ops 3. So many players do not have any of the new guns. What’s the point of the new guns when so many people are complaining that they don’t have it? Even people that have spent money on CoD Points have come out claiming they have yet to get some of the new weapons.

The only way Activision should ever release this new specialist is by providing the specialist for free for Season Pass owners or separate purchase for a price. Not exclusively in supply drops.
