Warzone and Modern Warfare 3 players are reporting major server issues that are preventing them from playing the game, with some even claiming that they have been temporarily demoted back down to Rank 1.

Both Warzone and Modern Warfare 3 have huge player bases, with thousands of fans logging in each and every day to level up their guns and grind through the ranks. It’s no surprise then that when server issues rear their head, it can be extremely frustrating for the community.

On February 23, many players began reporting that they were being disconnected from matches across both titles, with Ranked Play seemingly being hit the hardest. They found themselves being booted out mid-game and then unable to get back in.

To make matters worse, those who did manage to find their way back into the menus discovered that their progress had been reset.

Call of Duty players lose all progress amid server issues

According to a number of posts from those affected, all of their Military and weapon levels had returned to Rank 1, the Battle Pass would no longer load, and they had even been demoted back down to Bronze in Ranked Play.

Some Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone players have been able to get into matches, but they noticed that their loadouts had all been reset, probably as a result of weapons levels returning to the beginning and attachments being locked.

The issues also extended to the Blackcell Battle Pass, as players who purchased the upgrade were being asked to buy it again.

On top of all this, any progress in the Cryptid Bootcamp event currently live in MW3 and Warzone had been lost, including the controversial 200 Mimic Skull challenge.

MW3 & Warzone devs respond as players lose progress

Luckily, the Call of Duty devs have now responded to the ongoing issue, reassuring players that they’re aware of what’s happening and are working on a solution:

“We’re working on a fix for a known issue that appeared overnight that is preventing progress from being tracked in various areas of the game including but not limited to events, challenges, Battle Pass, and SR,” they said on X. “Players may also notice unusual behavior related to account level and loadouts.”

Hopefully, this means that it shouldn’t take too long for the problems to be resolved, and MW3 and Warzone players should see their progress restored in both regular modes and Ranked Play soon.
