MW3 Snipers Only mode “killed” by players using Shotgun exploit

The Snipers Only mode in MW3 is being ruined as players are using semi-auto rifles and some have even found a way to use a Shotgun.

Despite the mode claiming to only allow Snipers, some have found a way to use a Shotgun thanks to the JAK Widemouth Barrel that was introduced in Week 1 of Season 5. This Conversion Kit for the MORS turns the Sniper into a close-range Shotgun.

Running around with a Shotgun in a mode meant to only have Snipers is quite the advantage, and players are fed up.

On Reddit, many in the community are calling out the problems that have stopped some playing out of frustration: “I played a few or so matches and it was definitely frustrating getting shotgunned so I stopped playing.”

One compared the Shotgun in Snipers Only to the flamethrower Underbarrel attachment players used in the headshots-only mode when it was live.

In response to a Reddit post about the JAK Widemouth Barrel working in Snipers Only, one comment read, “Congrats you just killed this Playlist lol.”

The Aftermarket Part attachment is ruining the integrity of the mode, which is supposed to be all about precision and one-shot accuracy, but it’s not the only issue. Players are also unimpressed with the Longbow‘s inclusion, as its semi-automatic fire rate is much more forgiving than bolt-action options.

Combine the Longbow with iron sights or a smaller magnification scope and you essentially have a Marksman Rifle in the mode, which is causing players to “hate” it: “Using longbow without scope as a marksman rifle. I hate those longbow guys.”

Those who use bolt-action Snipers in the mode are looking to face others using a similar setup, creating a more even playing field that simulates a quickscoping lobby. Unfortunately, that’s not the case, and instead, the Snipers Only mode is full of players trying to find a way to bend the rules and use something to get easy kills.
