After the servers for classic Call of Duty titles were fixed out of the blue, they have now become the best-selling games on the Xbox Store.

If someone told you that many of Call of Duty’s classic titles such as Black Ops 2, Modern Warfare 2 2009, and the original Balck Ops would be topping the Xbox Store’s best-sellers in 2023, you probably would have thought that it was a pipe dream.

However, it’s certainly not, as after the multiplayer matchmaking on these old Xbox 360 games was fixed, reportedly by Microsoft, players have been rushing to play multiplayer on these nostalgic games, with over 10,000 players enjoying Black Ops 2 on July 16.

In fact, so many players have been jumping on their Xbox consoles to enjoy a hit of Call of Duty multiplayer nostalgia that some of these iconic CoD titles are actually topping the best-sellers on the Xbox Store charts.

As of July 19, Black Ops 2, Black Ops, World at War, Black Ops 3, Modern Warfare 2, and Modern Warfare 3 all feature in the top 10 best-selling games on the Xbox Store.

It’s important to note that these games are also on sale, so that contributes to players purchasing the games, however, it’s still incredibly impressive to see all these classic CoD titles getting appreciated once again after all these years.

It’s no surprise really, as the original Modern Warfare and Black Ops games are incredibly iconic and they hold a special place in many veteran fan’s hearts.

It’s great to see so many being able to go back and enjoy these games without it being ruined by server issues and hackers. Perhaps all of this nostalgia will get players looking forward to Call of Duty 2023, which is rumored to be Modern Warfare 3 and include some classic maps and weapons.
