Despite initially targeting a release later this year, Activision have officially announced that their upcoming mobile game, Warzone Mobile, has been delayed until 2024.

During the Call of Duty Next event, Activision have revealed a ton of details about the Call of Duty franchise, including Modern Warfare 3’s multiplayer and Zombies content, as well as details about the future of Warzone Mobile.

In September of last year, during the first iteration of CoD Next, Activision’s new mobile game was officially revealed, bringing back fan-favorite maps and a complete multiplayer experience as well.

With the game bringing a huge amount of content, players quickly became excited to find out when Warzone Mobile would arrive in their hands, with the team targeting a fall 2023 release. However, it looks like the game has undergone a change of plans that will delay its arrival.

Warzone Mobile delayed until spring 2024

While Warzone Mobile‘s team initially aimed for a late 2023 release, Activision have confirmed a delay, pushing the game’s launch to 2024, aiming for a possible spring 2024 release.

“We have a few more things we want to polish up before we release around the world in spring of 2024,” said co-studio head Chris Plummer concerning the delay.

Although this news will be disappointing to players, the game will still proceed with its limited regional early testing. This will enable available regions to continue testing the game, contributing valuable feedback to help the dev team in making improvements.

Earlier this year, in March, Plummer offered an explanation for the limited-release strategy of Warzone Mobile, stating that the gradual introduction of the game in different regions ensures devs sufficient management prior to its launch in some of the world’s largest countries.

In the meantime, players can pre-register for the game on both Android and iOS, if Warzone Mobile isn’t yet available in their region, to ensure they are ready when the full release arrives next year. Pre-registered players will also receive a range of rewards.
