Warzone fans divided as Rebirth Island health changes shake up game
Following the Season 3 Reloaded update, Rebirth Island Operators received a health increase, and the impact of this change has divided Warzone players.
The Warzone devs implemented a health increase for Caldera’s BR playlist in Season 2 Reloaded. After gathering feedback and testing the change, players received an identical health increase for Rebirth Island playlists with the Season 3 Reloaded update.
Warzone players on Rebirth Island now have a base health of 150 instead of 100, which can rise to 300 instead of 250 when fully plated. This drastic change that impacts how the game is played has left Warzone players divided.
While a huge part of the decision to bring the change to Rebirth Island was due to the positive reception of the initial change across Caldera, it seems that not all players are happy with the alteration.
Warzone expert JGOD took to Twitter to inquire whether players think the Rebirth Island health change is a win or loss for the community. With over 12,000 votes cast at the moment, there is a 63.3% majority that is happy with the change.
Despite what seems like a win for Warzone players, replies to the Tweet bring up legitimate concerns for those who voted “L.”

The major concern is that Rebirth Island is supposed to reward fast and aggressive gameplay, but certain players believe the increase in health has slowed things down, “HUGE L BRO. Rebirth is meant to be fast-paced and high-action. It’s annoying really.”
While one side of the player base believes that the increase in health has slowed the pace of Rebirth Island matches, and made it difficult to take on more than one enemy at a time, others are happy that the health increase has provided them with more of a fighting chance.
With the health increase, you’re less likely to get shot in the back and downed in seconds before you even have a chance to react. With added survivability, you have more options to react in unfavorable situations.
JGOD himself agrees with the previous sentiment, “I personally like it a lot. Rewards accuracy and less likely to just get insta-deleted.” While taking on a squad at a numerical disadvantage may not be as easy after the health increase, your own chances of surviving ambushes have increased to create a more balanced experience.
