Warzone’s PPSH-41 received some powerful secret buffs in the Season 2 update, making it one of the fastest killing guns to ever hit the game. Raven Software have now responded, confirming nerfs are on the way.

Time to kill, or TTK, is one of the most important stats when choosing a weapon in Warzone – the faster it kills, the better it is. However, sometimes that TTK goes too low, making a weapon completely broken.

This has happened with the PPSH-41 in Warzone Pacific Season 2, with its popularity skyrocketing over the last couple of days. However, devs Raven Software confirmed that the buff was “unintentional” and promised nerfs are on the way.

PPSH in Warzone Pacific

Warzone has seen some broken metas over the past couple of years, with the infamous DMR 14 completely taking over the game. Now, thanks to the unintentional buff at the start of Warzone Pacific Season 2, the PPSH-41 is on the same trajectory.

YouTubers JGOD and TrueGameData investigated the PPSH-41 and discovered that its TTK can become as low as 419ms, making it the best weapon in the game. The TTK was so low that JGOD called it “overpowered” and believed it was buffed accidentally, and the devs have now confirmed this was true.

“We’re aware of an issue with the PPSh-41’s damage profile, which has resulted in an unintended increase to both its base damage and location-based multipliers,” tweeted Raven Software on February 22. “Efforts are undergoing to bring the weapon back in-line.”

They attached a card on their Trello board of known bugs and issues, where they say that “Players will notice that the PPSh-41 (VG)’s damage profile is incorrect, resulting in a higher-than-normal damage profile.”

The card is still marked ‘Investigating,’ so there’s no timeline for when we can expect the PPSH-41 to be nerfed. But, we’ll be sure to let know once Raven Software have another update.
