A Call of Duty leaker has claimed that in-game files prove Vanguard and Warzone Pacific will not receive Season 6 content. Instead, the current cycle could end earlier than anticipated with Season 5.

The next major Call of Duty update and content release is right around the corner as Season 3 of Warzone Pacific and Vanguard will go live on April 27. Fans are eager to discover how Godzilla will be incorporated into the games after teasers hinted at the arrival of some dangerous foes.

While new content is always an exciting time for CoD fans, it seems Vanguard and Warzone Pacific will not receive a Season 6. In-game Warzone files indicate that Season 5 could be the final major event, which means the Vanguard and Warzone Pacific cycle could end sooner than anticipated.

Both Modern Warfare and Black Ops Cold War offered players six seasons of content alongside Warzone. This led players to assume that new Call of Duty titles would produce six seasons of content alongside the battle royale.

As it turns out, these assumptions could prove to be false if CoD leaker TheGhostOfHope is correct. The leaker claims that Warzone in-game files indicate that there will be no Vanguard and Warzone Pacific Season 6.

Given Vanguard’s poor reception, most players may welcome the news of a Season 5 finale. After all, this suggests that you might be getting your hands on the next Call of Duty title sooner than expected.

While Modern Warfare 2 does not have a confirmed release date, TheGhostOfHope breaks the math down for us: “Seasons are about 65 ish days it seems so that lines up with S5 ending by end of October.” So long as the devs do not decide to extend the final season of Vanguard, the above dates make sense.

Given the growing excitement for the Modern Warfare sequel, it’s safe to say that players would welcome an October release date with open arms. Of course, none of this information has been confirmed by Activision therefore dates are subject to change.

With Season 3 of Warzone Pacific and Vanguard set to introduce a massive Godzilla crossover, there’s no telling what’s in store for Season 4 and 5. If there won’t be a sixth Season, Activision could look to deliver exciting crossovers and major content before Modern Warfare 2 and the rumored Warzone 2 arrive.
