Strange CoD: Warzone Season 3 bug gives players infinite slide
Players are somehow able to rocket their way around Verdansk ’84 thanks to a bizarre slide glitch allowing for near-endless slides in Season 3.
Just when it seemed like some parity was being restored in Verdansk thanks to the mending of holes in the map, a new oddity has found its way into the game. A video has been doing the rounds showing one Warzone player flinging themself around Verdansk at unusually long distances.
The game’s sliding mechanic is traditionally a quick way of taking cover and evading enemy fire, but, for the time being, at least, it can be used to simulate being on a water slide in Warzone.
Warzone always seems to have the odd trick up its sleeve, but we don’t even think the devs knew that a sliding glitch was on the cards.
But Reddit user NotImKenny has shown this to be the case with their video demonstrating that a seemingly random glitch can allow you to slide long distances.
With a post titled “I don’t think I am supposed to be able to slide 18 meters,” the player identifies a certain spot in the map that allowed them to slide a great distance. But soon after, they continued to give themself skin burns by sliding enormous distances everywhere.
It’s hard to pinpoint if this was a random glitch or was actually triggered by something in particular. However, some Reddit commenters seem to think there’s a cause: “Just to clarify, the slide boost, I assume, is from picking up a dog tag and getting overdrive. I assume it stuck on unintentionally because in overdrive you can slide this far.”
Another user also said, “There’s actually something wrong with the map, spots in the Forrest near Salt Mines and over between Farmland and Lumber it does the same and if you prone you end up halfway in the map.”
It could be either reason, both, or neither. We’ll just have to wait and see if more instances of the sliding glitch occur.
