SBMM Warzone website returns under new name

The SBMM Warzone website had been a popular resource for community members to see how difficult their lobbies had been in past matches and has made a return following a previous shutdown of the site.
Skill-based matchmaking or SBMM has always been a major topic in the Call of Duty: Warzone community, as players wonder where the lobbies they play in rank in difficulty.
One website known as SBMM Warzone was the most popular resource for players seeing how difficult their lobbies are and was widely used.

However, the site shut down on March 29, 2021, when Activision reached out to the website and asked them to shut down due to them breaking the battle royale game’s Terms of Service, as the website did not have permission to use Activision’s API.
Activision’s lawyers reached out and asked us to shut down https://t.co/aX094FtqB8. According to their ToS, we can’t use their API. We’ve tried to reach them multiple times to become Partners, now is our last shot. Anyone working at #Activision, please reach out [1/7] ⬇️ pic.twitter.com/EBFNSee2R7

This is why plenty of players were surprised to see that SBMM Warzone recently announced that they would be making a return under a new name.
This announcement caught the eye of a large majority of the community and led to plenty of discussion amongst players.
On May 3, 2021, the SBMM Warzone Twitter account posted an announcement stating that the site was reopened under the name WZ Stats. You can find the announcement below:

On their website, WZ Stats states that they are no longer SBMM Warzone and have removed the lobby ranking feature from the site, and are dedicated to providing the community their stats from their time playing.
“We’ve tried to contact Activision multiple times, before and after having received their letter, even through our lawyers. They are yet to reach out. We believe we have done our best to show our good faith and that we are worth partnering up with,” said WZ Stats in a statement on their website.
“With the tremendous support from the community, we consider that the best way to keep this wonderful project alive is to reopen the website,” The statement continued. “A huge shout out to all of you Warzone players who believe in us. It means the world.”
It remains to be seen what the future holds for the WZ Stats website following its rebranding from SBMM Warzone, but stay tuned to Charlie INTEL for more Call of Duty: Warzone, and we will update you with any future developments.
