How to lower input lag in Warzone
Responding quickly to different combat situations is the key to surviving in Warzone, and experiencing input lag can prevent you from doing that. Luckily, there are ways for you to lower input lag in Warzone.
When you hop into a game of Warzone, you’ll face intense combat situations that will require you to react quickly in order to survive. However, you might not be able to do that if there’s a noticeable input lag.
This is the amount of time it takes the game to perform an action after you press a key or button on your controller. Ideally, this should be instantaneous, but sometimes it can take a few milliseconds for the game to register your command.
We’ll go over how you can reduce input lag in Warzone.
How to reduce input lag in Warzone
Call of Duty stats expert ‘TrueGameData’ went over the effect that input lag has on your Warzone experience. In his YouTube video, he showed the different factors that affect the response time.
If your input lag is high, the game will take longer to register your button and key presses, leaving you vulnerable to enemies. However, there are a few ways for you to reduce input lag in Warzone.

Play Warzone with a mouse
You’ll face less input lag when using a mouse to aim when playing on a PC as it will have a 0.5-millisecond response. The response times when using PlayStation and Xbox controllers on PC are two and four milliseconds respectively.
So it’s preferable to play with a mouse, and if you do use a controller then be sure to make sure that it is through a wired connection. The game will register your button and key presses much quicker.
Maximize your FPS in Warzone
Another thing to note is that your frame rate will also have an impact on input lag. For example, if the game is running at 50 FPS then you’ll get exactly 10 milliseconds of average input lag in Warzone.
TrueGameData displayed a chart showcasing how higher FPS leads to a quicker response time in the game. You can get this done by checking out our guide on how to improve FPS in Warzone.
Once you’ve made the adjustments suggested by TrueGameData in his video, you’ll be able to eliminate input lag from your Warzone gameplay, ensuring a much smoother experience when you hop into Caldera or Rebirth Island.
