Warzone is jam-packed with high-quality SMGs that deal big damage in Season 3, but CoD pro Ean ‘FaZe Booya’ Chase has shown off an underappreciated weapon that is ideal for Rebirth Island.

Compared to the vast open spaces of Caldera, Warzone Rebirth Island is far more tightly packed, favoring close-quarters combat over picking off enemies from afar. This means players will be relying heavily on short-range weapons to fire them to victory.

Warzone Season 3 has plenty of meta SMGs that are proven to be effective across both modes, but the more forgiving nature of Rebirth means players have more room to experiment with more obscure weapons.

Warzone pro FaZe Booya has shown off his class for an “underrated” SMG that you should be running on Rebirth – the Cold War TEC-9.

TEC-9 in Warzone

First unlocked through the Cold War Season 5 Battle Pass, the TEC-9 has largely fallen by the wayside in Warzone these days. According to WZ Ranked, it has a pick rate of just 0.04 despite its three modes of fire and its capabilities in close-range duels.

However, Booya urged players not to sleep on it in his May 18 video, saying about his TEC-9 loadout: “It was pretty fun to use, I think it’s pretty underrated.”

Check out his full loadout below:

FaZe Booya’s Warzone Rebirth Island TEC-9 loadout

  • Muzzle: Full Auto Repeater
  • Barrel: 4.9″ Task Force
  • Stock: Raider Stock
  • Underbarrel: Bruiser Grip
  • Ammunition: Salvo 48 Rnd Fast Mags

FaZe Booya kicked off his class with the Full Auto Repeater to switch the TEC-9 to fully automatic while giving its fire rate a considerable boost. He paired it with the 4.9″ Task Force Barrel to increase the damage range and velocity to make mid-range fights more manageable.

Next up, he picked the Raider Stock and Bruiser Grip for a massive buff to mobility, crucial for outmaneuvering opponents in Rebirth many buildings. He rounded out the TEC-9 loadout with Salvo 48 Rnd Fast Mags for much-needed reload speed, saying “you can kill two people pretty easily, three if you hit your shots.”

Booya did warn players that the recoil on the TEC-9 can make it tough to control, but urged players to keep practicing with it to unlock the SMG’s potential. So, the next time you drop into Rebirth, consider giving this Cold War SMG a try.
