Dataminers claim to have found evidence that rappers Nicki Minaj and 21 Savage are coming to Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 Season 5 in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Hip Hop.

Fortnite kickstarted the trend of video games featuring crossovers with celebrities from the world of sports, movies, and music, and Call of Duty was quick to join in with fan-favorite characters such as John McClane, Rambo, Ghostface, and the Terminator joining the fray.

Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 Season 4 Reloaded arrived with a crossover with Amazon’s superhero comedy The Boys, but the update files reportedly include references to both Nicki Minaj and 21 Savage arriving as playable Operators down the line.

Nicki Minaj & 21 Savage leaked for MW2 & Warzone 2

According to dataminer ‘Alaix’ who has accurately leaked content in the past, “21 Savage & Nicki Minaj are supposedly coming to MWII/WZ2.”

After speculation that Nicki Minaj and 21 Savage could have their songs featured as War Tracks instead of being fully-fledged Operators, Alaix said it’s “100% operator.”

50th anniversary of Hip Hop event in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2

According to a now-deleted Call of Duty description for Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 Season 5 on their official site, both games could have a “50 years Hip-Hop history” celebration event, with the rumored Nicki Minaj and 21 Savage Operators leading it.

When will the 50th Anniversary of Hip Hop event start in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2?

Drawing inspiration from the real-life “The 50th Anniversary of Hip Hop” event, the likely collaboration between Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 with the 50 years Hip Hop celebration might possibly be released around August 11, overlapping with the opening of Legends Recordings’ mission.

The primary aim of this event is to “uplift and honor every aspect of Hip Hop culture” all around the world, encompassing a diverse range of artistic expressions.

This Anniversary event could present an opportunity for Call of Duty to host various activities, such as a music showcase featuring Nicki Minaj and 21 Savage, among other artists in the game, or incorporating special Hip Hop related camouflages and challenges for players to complete across both Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.

When will Nicki Minaj and 21 Savage Operators arrive in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2?

Both Nicki Minaj and 21 Savage Operators are expected to be released in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 around August 11, potentially coinciding with the 50th anniversary of Hip Hop, both in-game and in real life.

Just like previous Operator releases, each one could have its own individual launch date, enabling personalized promotional content to be shared on Call of Duty’s social media platforms.

Minaj and 21 Savage would follow other celebrities that have joined Call of Duty including Snoop Dogg back in Vanguard, top footballers Messi, Pogba, and Neymar Jr, as well as NBA star Kevin Durant. These Operators all had unique voice lines recorded by the celebs, so Nicki Minaj and 21 Savage should follow suit.

In the past, Nicki Minaj collaborated with Call of Duty, making an appearance in Modern Warfare 2’s Squad Up trailer alongside other celebrities like Pete Davidson, Lil Baby, Lando Norris, and streamer FaZe Swagg.
