After the reveal of the upcoming CoD game, some players are confused by one Vanguard weapon attachment shown in the game’s latest trailer.

Call of Duty: Vanguard was revealed last Friday with a flashy trailer. The trailer showed off some of the game’s impressive cinematics and some gameplay.

Vanguard is set to take place during WW2. The game’s campaign plans to take players to all four fronts of the war and introduces an arsenal of new weapons. The Vanguard weapons will be coming to Warzone later this year.

However, some CoD players are questioning the historical accuracy of some of the game’s weapons. Specifically, history gun buffs have complaints regarding a Vanguard weapon attachment that was shown in the Champion Hill game mode trailer.

World War 2 lasted six years, from 1939 to 1945. As such, Vanguard will be limited to weapons that existed during this time period. This means that some of the most iconic weapon attachments might not be available.

However, two Reddit users have already spotted a weapon attachment that defies the laws of time. Users u/MrRoy200 and u/ThatRandomIdiot both noted what looks to be a red dot sight in the PlayStation Alpha trailer.

The first red dot sight wasn’t developed until 1975, thirty years after the end of WW2. As such, some players don’t believe that red dot sights belong in Vanguard.

Other players believe that Sledgehammer Games should be allowed creative liberties. Especially since Vanguard weapons will be implemented in Warzone later. It won’t make sense to add Vanguard weapons if they aren’t going to be useful.

Some comments argued that the sight was actually a period-correct reflector sight. Others stated they didn’t care if the games were historically correct as long as they are fun.
