The Call of Duty: Vanguard developers have showcased the first major patch of 2022 and have promised to finally fix the issues with the game’s overpowered fire weapons.

Call of Duty: Vanguard features many different activities for you to try out, it also has its fair share of problems. Players have complained that the abundance of fire makes it frustrating to play the game.

The Special Incendiary Grenade has been dominating matches, and many fans have been Sledgehammers Game to nerf this overpowered Lethal. Now, the developers have responded to this problem.

After a short break, Sledgehammer Games returned to address many of the pressing issues in CoD: Vanguard. They laid out the first set of changes in a tweet on January 3, promising fixes for multiple problems.

Almost every player has been running with Incendiary Grenades to trap and eliminate their opponents in Season 1. These were initially too difficult to counter, but the devs have promised Perk changes to reduce their impact.

The same change will be made for Incendiary Rounds as well, as Sledgehammer Games are aiming to “counter all things fire.” Additionally, the devs highlighted three other areas as their priority.

Vanguard challenges will be receiving a fix after players criticized the slow weapon progression. There will also be some weapon balance changes, with Shotguns getting nerfed and Snipers being given a buff.

Lastly, the Mortar Barrage streak will have its duration reduced. It’s currently unclear when these changes will be implemented in the game, but the devs said to expect “more frequent updates” soon.
