Modern Warfare 2 players can finally have the same Weapon Blueprint design no matter the attachment they use, but this highly requested system comes with a major catch.

Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer has finally been revealed at the Call of Duty Next event ahead of the beta, revealing the weapons, maps, mechanics, and of course, Warzone 2. This reveal also provided more details on the new Gunsmith 2.0.

Modern Warfare 2 has brought major changes to the Gunsmith and weapon progression, making leveling up guns much easier. Now, once certain attachments are unlocked they can be equipped on any weapon regardless of the level.

That’s not all though, as Infinity Ward have delivered a highly requested change to the way Weapon Blueprints behave. Now, starting with the Vault Edition’s FJX Cinder, the Blueprint will look the same regardless of attachments. However, this comes with a major catch.

It’s only the Vault weapons that will retain their look when you change attachments, not the standard Blueprints. Infinity Ward advised players to “think of the Weapon Vault as the Ultimate Weapon Blueprint,” so they’ll be something different entirely.

Standard Blueprints will act the same as they have since Modern Warfare released, where only the Blueprint’s default attachments will include the unique design, and swapping out the attachments can completely change how the Blueprint looks.

You’ll need to look out for the Vault weapons in Modern Warfare 2’s Store if you want your Blueprints to retain their look when changing attachments. But, if you pre-order Modern Warfare 2’s Vault Edition then you can try out the FJX Cinder Weapon Vault in the beta and at launch.
