Modern Warfare 2 Season 1 has dropped and even though there is a lot of content to tuck into and enjoy, a change to the game’s camo system has left players perplexed.

The long wait is over and Modern Warfare 2 Season 1 really gets the ball rolling with more weapons and more maps for players to make the most of.

Not only this, but Warzone 2, and its accompanying DMZ mode, are now live as well. Amongst all the positive changes, the devs decision to tinker with camos has been met by confusion from players with some citing the change as “dumb.”

UI has been a bone of contention in Modern Warfare 2 since the game’s release with fans of the series bemused and bewildered by the “worst UI” ever.

In response, players have drawn up their own “perfect” user interfaces, and the devs themselves are now reporedly back at the drawing board.

However, with the launch of Season 1, many players are reporting that a UI change has been brought into effect, but it’s actually made things even worse.

Reddit user Error404-NoUsername- shared an image of the camo screen and it appears as if many of the game’s camo images have been brightened, decreasing the visibility of the padlock icon.

“Looks like they made them all brighter, not just the ones you have unlocked. Should’ve only brightened unlocked camos imo,” said one user, whereas another sarcastically called out the change: “They’re listening guys holy s**t! Unlocked and locked being the same brightness is so dumb tho lol. F**k they can’t do anything right.”

The general feeling is that it’s now a lot harder to differentiate an unlocked camo from a locked one, and furthers the idea that the game’s UI is not as intuitive as it could be.

With the pressure of the Season 1 launch and the integration with Warzone 2, UI might not be the core focus for the devs right now. So it could be a bit of time yet until we see some UI changes that will appease the CoD crowd.
