Activision Blizzard has revealed that Call of Duty League 2021 viewership rewards will include Operator Skins as part of a tier system based on watch time.

Call of Duty League 2021 officially begins on February 11 and offers fans viewership rewards for watching. To encourage players to watch CDL 2021, fans will receive callings cards, weapon charms, emblems, and Double XP tokens simply by watching.

At the end of CDL 2020, Activision experimented with offering viewership rewards, but have made it much simpler for 2021.

By linking your Call of Duty account with YouTube and watching CDL 2021 matches, you will earn various in-game rewards.

While calling cards and emblems are great, there’s no bigger flex than an Operator Skin.

Operator Skins coming as CDL viewership rewards

In an interview with Sports Business Journal, Brandon Snow, Chief Commercial Officer of Activision Blizzard Esports, revealed that Operator Skins will also be coming as viewership rewards.

He described a “tiered system” based on viewership time, with Operator Skins available as “high-end” rewards. Currently, the maximum reward is given for watching three hours of CDL 2021, but with Operator Skins up for grabs, expect the requirements to be significantly higher.

There are no details on what these Operator Skins will look like, but they will likely be CDL themed. Activision released a CDL launch pack in December which contained a league-themed skin, so perhaps it will be a redesign of this skin.

Last year during the Modern Warfare season, you could also purchase CDL packs with skins and other cosmetics relating to your favorite team. Once the 2021 season officially kicks off, expect more CDL packs to be available for purchase in Black Ops Cold War and Warzone.

If you don’t fancy spending money on the packs, however, you’ll be able to unlock new Operator Skins simply by watching the CDL 2021 season.
