The Call of Duty League has announced that this weekend’s Minnesota Home Series event has been postponed.

The event will now take place next weekend, June 12-14. The Minnesota ROKKR team also followed up on the announcement with their the own statement.

“In light of recent and current events, this weekend’s Call of Duty League Minnesota Røkkr Home Series will be postponed one week to June 12-14,” the statement read. “We will share more details soon, including how the Call of Duty League family plans to pay tribute to George Floyd and dedicate this Home Series to supporting the fight for social justice and the rights of black and minority communities, as well as organizations assisting with rebuilding efforts both in Minneapolis and nationwide.”

“We have been working closely with CDL since last week on how we can use the the event to raise money for charitable organizations supporting racial justice and community rebuilding efforts,” Brett Diamond, COO of Wise Ventures and the RØKKR, said. “Scheduling was part of those discussions but the decision was made in the past 24 hours.”

The league has decided to postpone the event because of the current protests over police brutality in America.

Protestors across the country have been in the streets for over a week now, standing up for Black Lives Matter and taking a stand against police brutality.

Activision this week also delayed the launch of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare & Warzone Season 4 and Call of Duty: Mobile Season 7.
