The devs have finally begun pulling back the curtain on Modern Warfare 3, giving fans a look at what the hotly-anticipated sequel looks like. However, CoD expert JGOD thinks the MW3 teasers may have also offered a sneak peek at the new Warzone map.

Modern Warfare 3 is set to arrive on November 10, and fans are loving what they’ve seen so far. The sequel to 2022’s Modern Warfare 2 continues the epic story, bringing back the legendary villain Makarov to duke it out against Captain Price and Soap.

It’s also launching with all 16 multiplayer maps from the original MW2, alongside a Zombies mode for the first time in the series. But Modern Warfare 3 isn’t just a big deal for multiplayer fans, as it will also be worked into Warzone after launch.

Little is known about how Modern Warfare 3 will impact Warzone when it’s integrated into Season 1, but CoD guru JGOD thinks that MW3 teasers might have offered a first look at the new Warzone map.

While fans were treated to a new Modern Warfare 3 campaign gameplay trailer at Gamescom, Sledgehammer Games began posting a series of clips showcasing the new Open Combat Missions. These take place in open areas, which JGOD believed are actually sections of the next Warzone battle royale map.

In his August 23 video, the YouTuber explained that reports from leakers, paired with the clips posted by the devs, “essentially confirmed” these missions take place on a new battle royale map.

First, he highlighted a clip that sees an Operator ride a quadbike around a quarry, which JGOD mentioned is “part of a new POI.” The teaser shows how players will be getting around the new map, and includes some “Verdansk-style” buildings.

JGOD then picked out another clip that sees an Operator jump out of a place to offer an ariel view of the large area, which he insisted is “a lot more than a campaign mission.” While the video focused on one major landmark, he felt the surrounding areas would be part of the Warzone map.

“Even though the mission only takes place in the center, on the right side of the map, you can see that there’s other stuff going on over here,” the YouTuber said, highlighting some additional roads and buildings in the background.

It’s worth keeping in mind that the devs are yet to officially reveal the new Warzone map, and this is all speculation based on leaks for now. The CoD Next event is set to take place on October 5, where fans can expect more details on the future of Warzone and other new features coming in Modern Warfare 3.
