As with every Call of Duty game, the AK-47 is a tank of an Assault Rifle with some exciting but manageable recoil. Here is how you can make the best Cold War AK-47 loadout in Season 5.

In a game primarily defined by the strength of its SMGs such as the TEC-9 and LC10, Cold War does boast some quality Assault Rifles with a quick time-to-kill. You’ll need some awesome firepower in Season 5.

The firepower of the AK-47 has never been in question, and it has become even more powerful as the season progress. Following Season 5 Reloaded, the AK remains one of the best choices available, and our AK-47 loadout will see to the choppy recoil and make the gun a great addition to your loadout.

Best AK-47 loadout attachments for Cold War Season 5

  • Muzzle: Suppressor
  • Barrel: 20″ Liberator
  • Underbarrel: Spetsnaz Grip
  • Magazine: 40 Rnd
  • Handle: GRU Elastic Wrap

Given how potent the AK-47 is on its own in Black Ops Cold War, we think you’ll only need five attachments, so we would recommend selecting Perk Greed as a Wildcard.

The AK-47 has pretty clean iron sights, so you’re safe to leave the irons and add a barrel attachment instead. We recommend the 20″ Liberator for an all-important boost to its bullet velocity. Buffs in Cold War Season 5 also reduced the Suppressors bullet velocity penalty, so it’s well worth using on your AK-47.

One of the biggest things we’re trying to secure for the AK is its accuracy and recoil, and the Spetsnaz Grip is one of the most significant ways to lock it down. The GRU Elastic Wrap offers a healthy boost to ADS to improve its speed and mobility, and the 40 Rnd mag allows us some spare shots.

Best Perks to run with the AK-47 in Cold War Season 5

With Perk Greed, you have six options to choose. The AK-47 is strong at all distances, especially with the extra bullet velocity the barrel provides.

Tactical Mask will prevent non-lethal equipment from disrupting you, and Flak Jacket provides the usual immunity to explosives – a regular occurrence in Cold War.

Assassin is fantastic for extra points, and Quartermaster lets you use more equipment to stop people sneaking up on you.

Ghost is a universally loved perk that hides you from radar, and Gung-Ho is useful for extra mobility and a quick weapon switching if your ammo runs dry.
