With more and more information dropping about Battlefield 2042 as the weeks go by, it seems the developers will be using a gameplay feature seen in both Warzone and Apex Legends.

As well as some leaked gameplay that recently dropped, players will be able to get their hands on Battlefield 2042 in October, with some players also gaining access to the technical test in the coming months.

As well as reportedly using the same anti-cheat system as Apex Legends, it seems Battlefield 2042 will also be taking on a feature of both Apex Legends and Warzone that could make for some entertaining gameplay.

Some Battlefield fans may have been disappointed to find out that 2042 will not have the Rental Server Program or even ranked and esports modes at launch.

However, players may enjoy a new mechanic and make the game even more cinematic than it already is.

Tom Henderson is a renowned Battlefield reporter who brings the news first and early to the fans. In the latest reports from Tom Henderson, Battlefield 2042 will reportedly feature third-person executions much like the ones seen in Apex Legends and Warzone.

Battlefield 2042 third-person execution

Apex Legends’ version is known as a “Finisher,” where a downed enemy can be executed. In contrast, in Warzone, players can execute an enemy while they are still up by executing a melee while behind an enemy.

We suspect the feature will work more similarly to Warzone’s executions, mostly because Apex Legends is a battle royale where players can be in a downed state. At the same time, Battlefield 2042 will be a more classic form of a first-person shooter multiplayer.

If it is similar to Warzone, players will be able to initiate the “knife execution” by performing a melee from behind.

Further, as we know, Battlefield will feature cosmetics. Perhaps these executions will vary depending on specialist skins or some other form of cosmetic.

That’s all we know so far about Battlefield 2042’s executions. For more, check out our article on whether or not Battlefield 2042 will be on EA Play.
