Baldur’s Gate 3 players request devs to add new “pet” to camp
Larian StudiosBaldur’s Gate 3 has an incredible amount of playable characters and NPCs to discover, and every discovery is enthusiastically showcased by the community. Now, several BG3 players have found a new “pet” and are requesting for Larian to add it to Tav’s camp.
Baldur’s Gate 3 has broken records all over the world, and gamers have shared a myriad of experiences with the rest of the community. Some of them have seen the best of the game and the darkest side of roleplay. And some have found new friends, like this furry fellow that, for some reason, players want to have as a pet.
Unlike companions, pets are a secondary type of ally that doesn’t level up but can be used both outside and inside combat. With the exception of the Owlbear cub, Scratch and Us can be both used during combat.
But some Baldur’s Gate 3 players are requesting for another quadrupedal friend to be added to Tav’s merry band of misfits: a little Hyena pup that players can find during Act 2. Here’s what the community is saying about it:
For Reddit user ‘NikoSaysHi,’ this adorable Hyena Pup is not receiving the attention it needs: “This little guy breaks my heart every playthrough.” As a matter of fact, you can save the Hyena pup, but currently, there’s no way to “recruit” it during gameplay.
As one of the Baldur’s Gate 3 players has requested: “Petition for Larian to add him at camp like the owlbear since we get Scratch and the Owlbear Act 1, hyena could come to our camp Act 2 if you free him from the goblins.”
Another player has responded: “Wish we could take the little guy with us, too.” Others are concerned by the amount of furry friends your camp can hold: “If Larian does this then the fans will eventually make them patch the camp into a giant zoo for all the stray animals in the game.”
Larian StudiosHowever, that’s fine for some players, as one of them said: “F**k yeah sign me up. Gonna have all sorts there. From dogs to owlbears to hyenas and tiefling children. Because I’m sorry the idea of Mirken and Silfy getting to meet Scratch and Baby Owlbear brings me joy.” Another one added: “Tav is really just building an animal shelter”
One of the players has even stated that some more four-paw friends could do well for the most ‘needy’ of the companions: “As a matter of fact, they all should have their ‘support pet’ or ‘helping animal.’ Especially Karlach and Astarion. They are in dire need of zootherapy.”
