A Baldur’s Gate 3 player discovered some new dialogues for companions in Wyll’s Origin storyline which might hint that we will be fleshed out more in future updates.

Many Baldur’s Gate 3 players felt that Wyll‘s storyline, especially when he was used as an Origin character, was less fleshed out than the others. While some didn’t like the story that Larian set out for him, others pointed out how he had less meaningful interactions as a companion. He ended up being one of the least used Origin characters, and some also complained about his romance arc.

Thankfully, there’s good news for Wyll fans and Baldur’s Gate 3 players who believe he was left out. One player claims to have found proof that Larian might be making changes to his storyline. Redditor ‘ShivaDF’ shared what they claim are new dialogue lines for some companions when playing as Wyll in Baldur’s Gate 3.

According to the OP, Patch 4 seems to have added some new lines to the game which might be fully voiced and accessible in the next update. “Now, every companion has lines in which they react to Wyll’s transformation.” Fans on the thread were naturally quite happy to learn that Larian might be adding more content.

At the moment, when playing as Wyll in Baldur’s Gate 3, only Karlach reacts when Mizora turns him into a Tiefling. As one user pointed out, this is exclusive to Origin Wyll, as everyone has something to say when the same happens to companion Wyll. This is also in stark contrast to when Origin Shadowheart changes her hair, about which almost everyone has an opinion.

The game’s script now includes lines in which the other characters react to Wyll’s new look. This includes one from Shadowheart, which might be a reference to Baldur’s Gate 3’s grossest weapon. “Ah, so that’s what the poo-scraper dagger is meant for,” added ‘Va_Dinky.’

These new dialogues were datamined from the game’s script, so you can’t find the lines in your playthrough yet. However, as one fan mentioned, Larian might be “laying the ground for some relatively important content-focused patch(es) in the future.”
