Most entries in the Assassin’s Creed series are open-world, but what about the latest VR installment, Assassin’s Creed Nexus? It is said to be an AAA VR experience, so here’s whether that means Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR is also an open-world game.

Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed franchise almost always had an open world, whether it be the short and tightly packed city of Baghdad in Assassin’s Creed Mirage or the sprawling Greece in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

Now, Assassin’s Creed Nexus sees the series arrive on VR for the first time time, and it does retain all the staples of the series, from stealth to parkour. Nexus is, however, a standalone VR game as it is currently exclusive to the Meta VR ecosystem, which means plenty of technical restrictions.

So, here’s whether Assassin’s Creed Nexus is also an open-world game.

Is Assassin’s Creed Nexus open world?

Assassin’s Creed Nexus isn’t a full-fledged open world like its non-VR counterparts, but it takes place in sizable open areas, enough to roam around parkouring or picking up routes for your assassination.

There are three different settings: Italy, Greece, and Colonial America in Assassin’s Creed Nexus. Each has its own areas to explore, and these open maps have multiple side activities as well. So while it isn’t as big and seamless as non-VR Assassin’s Creed game, it is still sizeable enough to give you an open-world feel.
