Fallen enemies in Warzone 2 have been exploiting the text chat feature to call out the positions of players that are still alive, and the community is desperate for the devs to make a change.

Communication is vital to being successful in Warzone 2. Using effective callouts can help the rest of your team pinpoint enemies around Al Mazrah, and decide on the best play to secure victory.

The sequel also promotes more communication between rival squads, thanks to the new Proximity Chat and lobby-wide text chat features, which lead to some interesting games of cat and mouse.

However, Warzone 2 players have discovered how to exploit the text chat to completely ruin matches from beyond the grave. Fallen enemies have begun delivering callouts to the entire lobby, revealing the position of those still competing for the win.

Reddit user ‘Silver-Anybody5086’ showed the exploit in action with a clip from the end of a Warzone 2 game.

The player can be seen running across the train tracks in Al Mazrah when a dead player in the text chat flagged their position to the rest of the lobby, causing them to be shot at immediately.

Luckily, they managed to survive and eliminate the enemy, but the issue continued. The same player continued to reveal their every move with messages such as “in sand,” “behind tree,” and even “he knows u inside.”

Despite the unhelpful hints, the OP still managed to secure the win against all odds, but fellow players called for Infinity Ward to release a fix in a future update.

“This is so beyond broken. Hopefully this gets voted to the top of the page and fixed by the developers somehow,” replied ‘rusticlizard.’ Others even called for the text chat feature to be removed altogether, claiming “it really has no place in a lobby with 100+ players.”

Many players have already decided to turn off text chat, so they wouldn’t gain any advantage from cheating enemies that have been eliminated. However, for those who have it enabled, it clearly allows dead players to unfairly influence the outcome of matches.

With Warzone 2 Season 1 Reloaded around the corner, we’ll have to wait and see if the devs introduce a way to prevent cheating using text chat.
