Scarlet & Violet Ghost-type dog Pokemon Greavard revealed in spooky new clip
The Pokemon Company revealed a new Ghost-type dog Pokemon called Greavard in Scarlet & Violet. The new clip teases a haunting discovery in the Paldea region.
With Pokemon Scarlet and Violet‘s November 18 release date fast approaching, players are eager to uncover all of generation nine‘s secrets. Despite the looming launch date, The Pokemon Company continue to take a slow and steady approach when it comes to revealing the new Pokemon coming to the Paldea region.
The previous announcement revealed Bellibolt and Electric-type Gym Leader Iono. However, the latest reveal was not as cheery as Bellibolt’s, given the focus shifted to a Ghost-type Pokemon just in time for Halloween.

Who is new dog Pokemon Greavard in Scarlet & Violet?
A new Ghost-type Pokemon called Greavard will debut in Scarlet & Violet. The trailer follows a student of Naranja Academy’s Ghost-type Pokemon club as they look to make spooky discoveries. After being frightened by a Gengar, the student happens upon the new dog Pokemon Greavard.
While the friendly dog boasts a cute and cuddly appearance, the student seems to have their energy drained while playing catch with the new Pokemon. While showing affection to Greavard will make it incredibly happy, staying around it for too long will lead to the Pokemon inadvertently absorbing the life force of those around it.
While Greavard normally rests peacefully underground, it’s known to have a strong bite so trainers will need to be wary of it.
When is the Scarlet & Violet Ghost-type Pokemon reveal?
The reveal took place on October 25 at 6 AM PT / 9 AM ET / 2 PM BST.
On October 24, a post teasing “Ghost-type Pokemon in Paldea?!” was revealed. While trainers in the YouTube chat were hoping for a Paldean variant of Gengar or a Ghost-type Eevee evolution, the big reveal showcased Greavard instead.
With the month of October coming to a close shortly, it was the ideal time to introduce a new Ghost-type Pokemon coming to Scarlet & Violet.
How to watch Paldea Ghost-type Pokemon stream
Fans were able to watch the Ghost-type stream on the official Pokemon YouTube channel. The stream was a short one as expected and it focused on the mysterious and spine-chilling Greavard.

With Halloween right around the corner, it seemed like a fitting time to announce a new Ghost-type Pokemon set to debut in Scarlet and Violet. Greavard will be the second new Ghost-type Pokemon found in Paldea, joining the previously revealed Ceruledge.
