Dipplin in Pokemon S&V The Teal Mask

Players continue to explore Pokemon Scarlet and Violet The Teal Mask, and Dipplin is one of the many new Pokemon present in the DLC. It turns out, Dipplin could have a secret evolution in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet The Teal Mask takes you on a trip to Kitakami, where apple orchards are a common setting. Dipplin, the new evolution of Applin has garnered a lot of attention since the arrival of the DLC.

It seems Dipplin could have a few mysteries up its sleeve, as one fan used a held item to prove that the new Pokemon could have a secret evolution.

Eviolite is an item that causes a stat boost during combat for any Pokemon that hasn’t reached its final evolution. Some fans have noticed that this item is producing the intended effects when equipped to Dipplin.

The held item called Eviolite, only reacts when a Pokemon can still evolve further. As seen in the clip provided by DaWoblefet, it reacts when equipped to Dipplin as a held item.

Of course, this is all just a theory at the moment, and there is no official confirmation of a Dipplin evolution yet, so take it with a pinch of salt.

In past cases involving Duraludon, Stantler, and Ursaring, the three allowed Eviolite to activate prior to the reveal of their evolutions. We can only wait and see if this theory is confirmed by Game Freak in the near future.

In the meantime if you are struggling to find out more about evolutionary items in The Teal Mask DLC, you can check out how to evolve Gligar and how to evolve Feebas in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
