The Egg Hatching widget in Pokemon Go is a tool that players can add to their phone home screens to keep track of activities in the game, such as Egg status. You will be able to check your active Incubators and how far you need to watch for them to hatch.
Added to this feature, you can also use another widget to keep track of your Buddy Pokemon walking status, amount of Buddy Hearts, and more. These widgets help players check on some of the passive features of the game without having to open up the app.
It’s worth noting that trainers need to activate the Adventure Sync feature to keep tracking their walking distance with the app closed.
How to use Pokemon Go Egg Hatching widget on iOS
Here’s how to add a Pokemon Go widget to your iOS device:
- Tap and hold an empty area on the home screen until your apps start to wiggle.
- Press the ‘+’ symbol in the top left corner of the screen.
- Search ‘Pokemon Go’ in the search bar at the top.
- Choose between the ‘Eggs’ or ‘Buddy’ widget and then touch ‘Add Widget.’

Here’s how to add a Pokemon Go widget to your Android device:
- Tap and hold an empty area on a home screen.
- Choose ‘Widgets.’
- Tap and hold the Pokemon Go widget, and you’ll see your home screen.
- Move the widget to the location you want and lift your finger to drop it.
All these features work when you have Adventure Sync enabled, as it allows the game to track your in-game records when the Pokemon Go app is closed.
