Palworld: Pal Gear explained

Pal Gear in Palworld are special craftable pieces of equipment that you can craft on the Pal Gear Workbench using your Technology Points. These are one-time unlocks for each Pal type and serve as the means to unlock every Pal’s hidden abilities.

Depending on which Pal players catch, the Pal Gear Workbench will update itself with new items to unlock every time you bring a new creature home.

How to unlock Pal Gear Workbench in Palworld

To unlock Pal Gear in Palworld and bring the best out of your creatures, you will need to reach level 6 and craft the Pal Gear Workbench using 10 Paldium Fragments, 30 pieces of Wood, and 2 of Cloth.

Like with all workbenches in Palworld, approach it and open the crafting menu to see which recipes are available, based on captured Pals and available resources.

Best Pal Gear early unlocks in Palworld

Depending on which Pals you bring along with you in Palworld, the “best” Pal Gear to craft early will vary, but there are a few in-game mechanics that can only be obtained by crafting certain Pal Gear.

Here are a few of the best unlocks in Palworld for some early catches to start your adventures on the right foot:

• Gliding: Surfent can unlock its Saddle to obtain its gliding ability.
• Long-range Pal Attacks: Besides the guns players can carry, unlocking Lifmunk’s Submachine Gun will net players a good long-range attack option.
• Short-range Pal Attacks: Catching Daedream early and unlocking its Necklace in the Pal Gear Workbench will turn it into a nice short-range attack Pal.
• Mounting: Players can craft a Saddled Harness for Direhowl to unlock it as a mount.
