Post launch weapons will be earned through gameplay in Modern Warfare

Activision has announced a major shift in post launch content for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and it starts with no loot boxes anymore.

The company announced in a blog post that a Battle Pass system is coming to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare with both free and premium paths that let players earn content just by playing.

Activision has announced that post launch weapons in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be unlocked through gameplay only.

New base weapons will be earned through gameplay, simply by playing Modern Warfare. Functional attachments for base weapons can be unlocked through gameplay as well just like in the game’s Beta.
