You can find Echo Shards in Chests located inside Ancient Cities which are usually located at -51 in Deep Dark Biomes.

Echos Shards have a spawn rate of only 29% which means you’ll have to be patient and go through every chest in the city to get more Shards.

You can use Echo Shards to craft a Recovery Compass in Minecraft. Here’s the recipe to craft one:

Place one Compass in the middle and surround it with eight Echo shards. You can then use the Recovery Compass to pinpoint the location of where you last died.
