Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 has officially arrived, bringing a ton of new content to the battle royale, including a brand-new map, a new vehicle, and more.
While players get to grips with the new content, there’s an interesting new weapon called the Shockwave Hammer, which many are wondering how to use and find it. This weapon is very unique and can be useful in many ways, so let’s get into the details.

Where to find the Fortnite Shockwave Hammer
Players can find Fortnite Chapter 4‘s new Shockwave Hammer just like any other weapon in the game. Here are places players can find it:
- Floor loot
- Chests
- Capture points on the map
The Shockwave Hammer may be slightly harder to find than other weapons, as the Shockwave Hammer comes in Epic rarity.

How to use the Fortnite Shockwave Hammer
The Shockwave Hammer in Fortnite is a melee weapon that has two attacks. The primary fire (R2/RT) absolutely slaps enemies for 75 damage and has some real knockback that can send enemies flying off heights, back into the storm, or just away from your squad.
You’ll need to get close to enemies in order to perform the melee attack effectively, but that shouldn’t be much of a problem considering that the Fortnite Shockwave Hammer’s alternate fire acts as a mode of transport.
The alternate fire can do damage to enemies, but it’s most useful for movement and rotating towards a position or enemy team.
By using the alternate fire (L2/LT), players can use the Shockwave Hammer to propel themselves forward by smashing the ground with it. This can be done up to four times until it needs to charge its uses again, so use them wisely, especially as the primary attack also takes a use.
