After a Halo Infinite fan gained access to the insider build of the official Halo website, they discovered a new title for its upcoming first season that contradicts what the developers have previously stated.

We’re fast approaching the long-awaited release of Halo Infinite. Developed by 343 Industries, Infinite is expected to be a return to form for Halo, with its free-to-play multiplayer bringing back the elements that made the franchise so popular.

As with all multiplayer games nowadays, Halo Infinite’s content will be divided into seasons, with a Battle Pass available in each. It appears that an alternate title for Infinite’s first season has been discovered inside the insider build of Halo’s official website.

Reddit user superwalrusbros posted to the GamingLeaksandRumours subreddit that they had discovered an alternate name for Halo Infinite Season 1 – Noble Sacrifice.

They explained that they “briefly got access to the insider build of Halo Waypoint (Halo’s official website),” and discovered a section for Infinite. Emblazoned on the page is “Season 1: Noble Sacrifice.”

As superwalrusbros explained, “there was no release date and all images were clearly placeholder.” They also said that all links on the page were dead, and “the page itself has gone dead.”

This directly contradicts what 343 have previously stated. In an Inside Infinite blog post in June 2021, they revealed that Season 1 would be called Heroes of Reach and hinted that it would be Halo: Reach themed.

It’s unlikely that plans would have changed since the official announcement. Another Reddit user _KLind confirmed that the image “is how it appears in the beta version of the new Halo Waypoint,” but said that it’s “probably an earlier name for it.”

For the time being, all official information states that Season 1 will be called Heroes of Reach. We’ll keep you updated if this ever changes, as well as all new Halo Infinite news.

Battlefield 2042 will also be releasing later this year, so you can check out everything we know about the highly anticipated FPS.
