Here are all of the Realm and Loadout difficulty settings in Nightingale explained, so you have a better idea of which is best for your survival playthrough.

Nightingale is a survival experience that can be played solo or with friends. The game faces players with many challenges, as not only will you need to explore and survive, but you’ll also be using Realm Cards to create procedurally generated worlds inside the game.

Complete Puzzle Cores and earn new recipes to build your base and continue exploring the Realms. You won’t be alone, however, as danger lurks around every corner, and some of the enemies in the game can be very challenging.

Speaking of challenging enemies, the game also features different difficulty levels for both Loadouts and Realms, so if you’re wondering what these are, here’s everything you need to know.

All Nightingale difficulty settings: Loadout & Realm

You can choose from 4 difficulty levels for both Realms and Loadouts in Nightingale. Here’s a full list of them, including the Loadout title and Realm description for each of the difficulty levels:

  1. Easy
    • Loadout: Survivalist Prepper
    • Realm: For players new to survival crafting games who want an easy experience.
    • Real Power base score: 0
  2. Medium
    • Loadout: Heedful Refugee
    • Realm: For players with some experience with survival crafting games who want a “softer” experience.
    • Real Power base score: 10
  3. Hard
    • Loadout: Heedful Refugee
    • Realm: For players who are very familiar with survival crafting games.
    • Real Power base score: 25
  4. Extreme
    • Loadout: Heedful Refugee
    • Realm: For players who regularly play survival crafting games and want a challenging experience.
    • Real Power base score: 40

Each of these difficulty settings provides a different experience, and, as you can probably guess, the higher the difficulty, the tougher the experience.

Nightingale: Loadout difficulties explained

Loadouts in Nightingale are presented to you when you create your character, and they dictate how much gear you start the game with, as well as an aspect of the storyline.

The easier the difficulty, the more helpful equipment you will start the game with. The harder the difficulty you choose for the Loadout, the less prepared you will be to survive.

Nightingale: Realm difficulties explained

As for Realms in Nightingale, higher difficulties mean stronger and more variety of enemies you will face, making it much tougher to survive.

The Realm Power base score is an indicator of the difficulty level of the enemies you will face, which is then, in turn, a benchmark for your own gear when going into the Realm’s difficulty setting.

You can choose the difficulty of each Realm when you open a portal to another one and are asked to select a Major Card, which will have one of the above difficulties attached to it.

You may want to start off with easy and work your way up through the difficulties when you open new Realms, as by that point you will likely have better equipment and Gear Score to deal with harder enemies.
